The video ā€œBut Mother I don’t want to grow upā€ comes from the quote of the classic 1953 Disney film Peter Pan. This video describes the process of creating a tattoo machine and the consequent tattoo that the artist does on himself. Thus, the focal point of the piece is the use of Lego for the construction of this unusual machine. Expressing a tension in the duality of the toy vs an activity for adults. But also in order to highlight the perpetuation of childhood / adolescence, challenging several behavioral stereotypes associated with specific ages, the impediment and social permission for certain activities. So here through art there is a liberation from all these concepts. Using an aesthetic that makes reference to the exploration of the infinite potential of the internet and a self-taught learning that characterizes the artist’s generation.
