This digital graphic project explores and makes visible the offline presence of those vulnerable populations from the called “Third World” that cannot afford to face social distancing by immersing themselves in virtual worlds, or that due to technological isolation and disinformation, perhaps they see the pandemic as a distant and non-existent event.
The artistic research departs from taking real geolocations in Google Maps about the most vulnerable settlements in Mexico (according to government censuses) who don’t have access to basic services such as telephone or Internet, erasing the image, leaving luminic points in the cartography to ensamble and generate a landscape about the only technological elements they maybe possess: a light bulb, a radio, a television or even a candle.
