site specific installation

Oni- (2020-Ongoing) started as a means to explore the outside world during the COVID-19 Pandemic and it later developed into a series of works exploring the social magnitude and pictorial nature of security cameras in a globalised world, often seeping into questions regarding privacy, safety and human interconnection online as well as the aesthetic side of devices that weren’t made for that purpose . All the images gathered during the project are available on a website called insecam that displays public security cameras that are not protected by passwords.

The project was conceived as a site-specific installation to be projected either on a gallery space, engulfing the entire area (walls, ceiling, floor, etc.) or in public spaces, establishing the idea of a projected surveilled livestreamed world in contrast with the tangibility of a physical world.
