Pedro Ferreira (born in 1988, Portugal) is an artist and a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon, where he researches post-digital aesthetics in audiovisual art. In his artistic practice his focus is on experimental film and documentary, audiovisual installation, sound art and A/V performance. In both his artistic and academic work he is particularly interested in technologies and their effects in culture and society. In his practice he reconsiders technologies and their failures, explores media materiality and found footage. His documentary works examine globalization, industrialization, urbanization and social issues in an attempt to comprehend the world from a micro-point of view. Markedly hybrid in both form of creation and presentation his works often mutate to fit screenings, audiovisual installations and performances, as well as collaborations with different artists.
