John-Robin Bold (*1995 in Hamburg, Germany) is an electronic composer and performer, classical guitarist and multimedia artist. His output exponentiates both intellectual and affective discrepancies between experimental, classical and pop music on the quest for lasting artistic impressions.
A self-titled debut album was released in early 2020 by the legendary Mille Plateaux label. Bold has appeared in well over 200 performances in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary at ZKM, Golden Pudel and Electric Spring Festival among others. In addition to several collaborations in improvised and theatre music, he is closely working together with Andy Cowling and curating the Graz-based event series.
Following five years of studies in classical guitar at the Hannover University of Music, he graduated in 2020 in computer music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in which he also spent a semester at the University of Huddersfield.
