Concert-installations using the Madaeusa system. This electroacoustic system aims for a “sonic transfiguration” of the cello’s body when in contact with the place hosting its performance. This project proposes a nomad instrumental device designed to accommodate a solo improvisatory discourse which incorporates specific sonic characteristics (aural architecture, soundscape flow) of the place where it is installed and performed, addressing questions of site-specificity both in the installation setup as well as in the musical performance.

When Arts Get Real – on media-based art in public space and non-space

November 30th, 6pm
A conference with Rasmus Vestergaard, Digital Interactive Art Spaces’s Director (Copenhagen). DIAS is the world’s leading art center for digital art in the public space.
Introduction and moderation: Helena Barranha and Emília Tavares.
What happens when the boundaries between art institution and reality are erased, and subsequently when the finite nature of the exhibition is replaced by an art-based process looking for new conditions and new ways of generating meaning? On the basis of this logic, might it be possible to create new artistic and curatorial models, that manifests art as an active force in society?
