Rita Burmester
“The Drafts series began in 2013, when I moved from Porto to Lisbon. These are photographs taken from the mobile phone, using the Hipstamatic application, when I travel around the city.”
BIO
Rita Burmester (Portugal) works as an independent photographer essentially in the area of documentary photography and architecture. Her work is published in several books, catalogs and magazines. Starting 1990 Rita Burmester collaborated with the ETHER gallery Vale Tudo Menos Tirar Olhos, Lisbon, in the printing of photographs, and between 1997 and 2008, with the Museum of Serralves, Porto, in the photographic documentation of, the exhibitions and the collection of the museum. Between 2014 and 2016 she worked on the ONExTIME / The World Architecture project for the Japanese television network TBS. In 2013 participation in the collective exhibition “Como se fosse a primeira vez…”, Gallery Miguel Justino, Lisbon, and in 2015 in the collective exhibition “8 Espaços para 7 Olhares”, within the scope of the project of the Rota das Catedrais no Norte de Portugal. In November 2017 will be released her book “Soon there will be no traces”, author edition.
