Silvestre Pestana (Portugal) studied at the Fine Arts Faculty in Porto in 1980 and has a master degree in Art Teaching and Design by the De Monfort University, in Leicester in 1998. He lived in Stockolm from 1969 and 1974. He’s the author of the first video art directed in Portugal and was the first artist to write poetry for ZX81 and Spectrum personal computers between 1981 and 1984.
More recently he’s been developing projects for the “Second Life” platform and has had several exhibitions in places like the Santa Barbara’s Museum of Contemporary Art, in California, The Serralves’ Museum of Contemporary Art, in Oporto, in the 2015 Maia’s Biennial, in the Center of Modern Art of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and in several galleries.
