MÓNICA MENDES [Portuguese, b. Angola | Living in Lisbon, Portugal] is a new media art department director and an assistant professor and coordinator of the Multimedia Art PhD of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, FBAUL.

She is also a researcher at ITI / LARSYS – Interactive Technologies Institute, collaborator at CIEBA – Centro de Investigação e de Estudos em Belas-Artes, and founding member of AZ Labs hackerspace altLab.
